After two and a half years of renovation, the brand new Museum of Sound and Visual Media reopened to the public on Saturday, February 11th. The goal of the design is to guide people to view media culture in the right way through a brand new immersive experience. The media defines us, and vice versa. This project is hailed as the world's first museum that features continuous adaptation to tourist behavior.

The exhibition space is divided into different areas, each dedicated to a different theme, including news, internet, shopping, sales, and gaming. Tourists can experience interactive games in the gaming area and relive the nostalgic atmosphere brought by classic media. This exhibition weaves together media images of the past, present, and future, providing people with an educational and inspiring journey of discovery. This diverse exhibition theme and interactive experience not only allows visitors to understand the history and development of media culture, but also inspires their thinking and exploration of the future development of media, making this visit an inspiring and interesting media journey.

The all encompassing media reactor is a major feature of this museum. A 300 meter long LED screen installation runs through the entire museum space, connecting different exhibition areas together. This device adopts borderless screen technology, achieving seamless integration of inside and outside, front and back. This so-called 'media reactor' symbolizes the endless media streams we encounter every day. This huge LED screen is not only a decoration for the museum, but also a platform for information transmission and communication, providing visitors with an immersive media experience, allowing them to better understand and feel the impact and changes of media on our lives.

The original intention of the design stems from the fact that we now live in an intermediary world. If you look at the screen opening time on your smartphone, you will find that the time you spend watching screens every day is approaching the time you spend with people in real life. In addition, the time you spend watching TV and computers, you will find that we mainly perceive the world through media means, that is, media. Unlike the past, media content today is largely created by ourselves. Therefore, media defines us, we define media. The goal of a museum is to make visitors aware of this This statement accurately captures the core concept and goal of the museum, which is to enable visitors to deeply understand the importance of media to our lives through exhibitions and interactive experiences, and to reflect on our use and influence of media.
